Sophie Duan

Chair/Founder

A specialist medical doctor immigrated to Canada in 1997, holding the same passion of helping people as a medical doctor does, transitioning career to business.

She founded M-Bridge in 2008 and has been chairing it since then. Through helping immigrant professionals integration with her blessed gifts and through embracing the challenges regardless of circumstances in life, she has succeeded in becoming an entrepreneur and immigrant community activist.

She is the owner of a consulting firm, and a principal consultant & coach in Business Administration, Communication, Marketing, Leadership and Public Relations.

She has been actively involving in Advisory Committee of PINs at TRIEC, Chinese Advisory Council at United Way Greater Toronto, Chinese Advisory Committee at Peel Regional Police.

 

Alex Wei

Vice-Chair/Director of Marketing

The Vice-Principal of Aurora International School, the school in GTA in combination of Canadian Education and Chinese Education.

Brought over 10 years significant track of record in every marketing management position with MBA background, Alex Wei landed in Toronto 10 years ago.

He worked as a marketing director at a career college in Toronto for years, and with keen ability to creative thinking and work, he enjoys bringing business to great success for the college. Alex also co-funded M-Bridge in 2009 and has been vice-chairing it since then in helping immigrants integrate into Canadian society. He participates community activities with great enthusiasm and use his public speech and positive communication skills to influence peoples around him.

Now he brings all his experience and passion into his business as a real estate agent to serve others.

 

Crane Shao

Secretary/Director of Project Management

Holding a master degree of engineering, Crane started his career developing hardware for intelligent electronics product, then software, then took on managing projects in China.

After landing in Canada in 2008, while pursuing his profession development in engineering field, he started actively getting involved in community activities and has been a board member of M-Bridge since then. His actions and leadership have contributed to M-Bridge’s growth and Immigrant Talk project.

He is a graduate of Landmark’s Team Management and Leadership program, from where he discovered his inner power of being a leader in life and community. He likes travel and has been living in different cities in both China and Canada.

 

Courtney Doldron    (BA Hon. B.Ed, MA, PHF, Major Donor)

Director of Education & Training

An educator, a Rotarian, a pioneer of ED&I in Education & Community Development fields.

Courtney is the former President of the Ontario Multicultural Association, Bayview Village Association, Founder of Afri-Americas Foundation, Past President RTO/ERO District 23, The Caribbean Cultural Committee – Caribana, Mas Players International, and Courtney has been on the board of the Canadian Council for Multicultural & Intercultural Education, VP Black Coalition for Aids Prevention (Black-Cap) RTO/ERO Provincial Executive, server on it’s Audit Committee, Chair of the RTO/ERO GTA Council, Member of Senate RTO/ERO, Member of OECTA Governing Council, Chair of OECTA Human Rights Committee, Canadian Teachers’ Federation Overseas Project.member of the Board of Directors with Toronto Catholic District School Board Credit Union for 7 years, and was the Chair of the Audit Committee for 5 years. He is currently a member of the Board of Directors with Smiles Foundation, Lake-shore Charitable Foundation and JK Charitable Foundation. Chapter Commander of the Knights of Rizal, Don Valley Chapter. Courtney taught with both the TDSB and the TDCSB for several years at the High School level (Religion, Business Ed. Law, Social Science & Special Education) and retired in 2009 as a Co-operative Education Facilitator. 

 

Alicia Wang

Director of Public Affairs and Administration

A Diplomat, Entrepreneur, Coach and Consultant

Alicia brings over 20 years of international experience and strategic leadership. Having excelled in global PR, certified in international project management, and completed Executive Education at Harvard Kennedy School, She is passionate about empowering professionals towards success. Her expertise spans public affairs, government relations, and integrated campaigns. Alicia has strengthened relationships with government agencies and academia, leading to innovative collaborations. Through coaching, training programs and community building. Alicia offers a high-performance approach to elevate the society’s profile and increase its impact.

 

 

Joe Daniel

Director of Strategy & Leadership

A Politician, Professor, Engineer and Businessman

He is a former MP of Canada and holds the Honorary Doctor Degree of Laws, the Master Degree of Telecommunication and the Bachelor Degree in Engineering. He currently is teaching Telecoms Instrumentation and Engineering Practice at Centennial College.

He was a Helicopter Systems Engineer in England, Electronic Engineer and Senior Global Program Manager with Celestica in Canada, and professor of Telecommunications Engineering and Electronics, and Computer Science. He also owned a printing business.

During his term of MP, he provided tremendous support and help to communities and immigrants. He dedicates in education and leadership training and has hosted many lectures and programs in communication and leadership. He also sits on Multicultural Board of World Vision.
